Movement is Art to me. When I move my body with focus, either in yoga, weight training, fluid intuitive dancing, or simple stretching, I hold the intention to do it with Divine Presence.
What is Divine Presence? It is the fire within my belly, my solar plexus. The center point of creation and movement. Divine Presence is a special kind of focus I hold when engaged in activities that light up my spirit.
History of a Movement Artist
My movement journey began in earnest with YOGA in 2009. After being a runner for a number of years, I attended my first class at Raffa Yoga and fell in love. During the Savasana (lying down meditation at the end of class) I received my first memorable vision- I saw myself sitting on a hill in the middle of a forest. The ground was covered with fallen leaves, and I was consumed by a feeling of peace and contentment I'd never experienced before. As I turned my gaze to the West, a red fox crossed several meters below where I was sitting, and a rainbow appeared just beyond that.
That is the entirety of the vision, but the feeling signature I received was enough to turn all of my attention to yoga. I began researching different styles and immersing myself in yoga culture, as is my way whenever I discover something I'm really intrigued by.
