Clear the deck. Download the soul. Set the tone of the day.
Our world runs on cycles. Though the concept of linear time seems dominant, this can only be counted in cycles, and cycles are how we relate to to time. The sun rises in the morning, sets in the evening. We get this opportunity of a new day, every time the sun comes up. There is acceleration to the sun's rising. It's energy is growing, building, setting things into motion from our perspective. It seems obvious then that the most powerful time to align your consciousness with your highest source of genius, the best time to clear the deck and sit with the most unadulterated part of you, is in the morning.
Look for 2 main benefits from your morning routine; it makes you feel good right now and it creates opportunities for more good feelings in the future.
Each time you perform your routine, you are strengthening your relationship with your soul. This strength will make the time you spend on your routine each morning even more powerful, and will lead to greater courage and opportunities to make really transformational decisions from your soul's guidance.
Developing a morning routine
The prescription for your morning routine comes from your soul. The greater intelligence that is creating you in every moment knows what is needed now, and it has many ways of communicating this to you. You may receive this intelligence through psychic channels such as clairvoyance, clairaudience, or clairsentience. You may develop a sudden interest in a new teacher who shares their routine, or have a friend casually recommend a practice that clicks with you. You may not be sure of what to try next, then receive signs through synchronicity (seeing repeating numbers, or anything repeating that catches your attention) calling you to something.
A morning routine can be as simple as kneeling in prayer or meditating for 5 minutes, writing in your journal, or taking 90 minutes for a full yoga practice, or all of these. The word "routine" in morning routine doesn't mean complex, or many steps. It simply means you do it every day.
When we do something consistently, and we know the benefits it brings, NOT doing it becomes more uncomfortable than taking the time and energy to do whatever it is. Can you imagine leaving for work in the morning without brushing your teeth, or going to bed without cleaning up the mess from dinner? Maybe you can, but there's probably something else in your daily routine that you might not always WANT to do, but almost always do anyway.
One minute of clear intention can carry you through 100 minutes of normal, distracted business or unfocused day dreaming. (I made up those numbers. But it's something like that).
Do you have a prayer for your life? If the word "prayer" is triggering, do you have preferences for how you feel and what you accomplish in a day? In a year? Throughout your life? Even if you aren't sure what those are specifically, there is something in you that seeks, that strives, that reaches for something great, the way a flower reaches for the sun. If you're struggling, you may just seek peace, satisfaction, or refuge. Daily life doesn't encourage us to take time for connecting to our deeper self, so we have to step out of that flow and do it intentionally.
