Guides and Mentors

What is a guide?

A guide is an unseen force or entity whose presence you can feel. A guide "walks with you" as a constant companion, usually unnoticed. Guides become more noticeable when you ask them for help. The way you receive that help depends on how you sense phenomena, and the strength of trust you have in receiving it.

A guide could be an angel. It could be an ancestor. It could be a more enlightened or "future" aspect of you. It could be an ascended master or a soul mate.

All humans have guides. All humans have soul history that connects them with specific guides. All humans are loved and assisted by a benevolent universe. All humans have free will to believe, act, and create whatever they wish, including that the former statements are not true.

Unseen forces have always been guiding my life. I just needed to learn their names. A name can be like plugging into a server. All the information stored in relation to that name becomes "downloadable" content for your mind to relate to.

I didn't "meet" my guides. I slowly realized that they were a part of me. I am gradually learning to trust their guidance in increasing measure.

When you become open to the idea that there are guides around you, natural curiosity leads you over the bridge to meet them.

Moments of intensity in our lives, stirring dreams, great struggles - These may leave us open to "Divine Intervention" by our guides - a sudden direct knowing of something we didn't know before, an overwhelming feeling of emotion bigger than anything we've experienced, repeating numbers in the external environment that get us to pause and wonder.

What is a Mentor?

A mentor is a guide that you consciously agree to journey with. A mentor may come to you, or you may go to them.

Mentors are beings who have already achieved what you are seeking for yourself. My chosen mentors are all Ascended Masters, meaning they have lived in human form, and have transcended human suffering in their lives. Their consciousness is "ascended” and is available to all beyond the constructs of space and time.

I was first introduced to the concept of non-living mentors through The Sophia Code mystery school.

Green Tara

Green Tara is known as "the mother of all buddhas" in Tibetan religion. She is keycode 3 of The Sophia Code, "she of a thousand stars", which points to her experience as a mentor and guide throughout the cosmos and throughout the ages.

In the context of The Sophia Code, I felt resonance with Green Tara immediately. She gives us the wisdom of "the 8 great fears" and "the 8 great virtues" that counteract them. She is the one who guides us across oceans of suffering, onto the shores of enlightenment. She offers her vessels of hope, teaching us to "take refuge" in our own light and power.

Green Tara symbolizes power to me. She is the one who "empowers" the group during Sophia Circles®. In times I've felt stuck, powerless, and angry about what's happening in my life, Green Tara has come forward to help me through it. Her presence is a reminder of truth. It expands the possibilities for thought forms and emotions to arise within you. Her laughter is a medicine for self-created limitation. Nothing is so serious to Green Tara. Her consciousness has lived countless histories of light and dark, battling for supremacy. She knows the truth beyond all of that, and she is right there to illuminate this wisdom and power existing within you as well.
